Simple. Effective. Innovative.
Our Story
Most veterinary medical companies are built by people who love animals. Avalon Medical was built by a scientist who refused to accept that animals deserved lesser science.
Kemal Schankereli spent his career at the leading edge of human cardiac medicine, designing devices including a transcatheter mitral valve replacement built to survive inside a beating heart. When you spend years engineering solutions for the most demanding environment in the human body, your standards for what "proven" and "effective" actually mean become permanently recalibrated.
In 1998, Kem brought that same biomaterials rigor to veterinary medicine — and Avalon Medical was born.
Built different, on purpose
The products Kem designed don't come from a love of animals, though that's certainly part of the culture here. They come from a deep, scientific understanding of how tissue heals at the cellular level, and an unwillingness to ship anything that doesn't perform to that standard.
That's why RediHeal uses the same class of borate bioactive fiber technology that's FDA-approved for human chronic wound care. That's why PoliPhase was engineered to hold a surgical seal under pressure. That's why every product in the Avalon line exists because standard approaches weren't good enough - not because there was a market gap to fill.
Staying vertically integrated and small-batch isn't a constraint. It's how we protect the quality that comes from that original standard.
When Standard Isn’t Enough
Since 1998, we've been designing, developing, and delivering surgical products that solve the problems other companies ignore - from complicated wounds to tricky surgical closures to challenging dental extractions.
Because when you're facing a case that keeps you up at night, you need more than industry standard. You need solutions built by someone who spent a career solving problems that couldn't afford to fail.
At our core, Avalon Medical isn’t just about products — it’s about partnership. We know how much care, dedication, and heart you invest in your practice. That’s why we’re committed to providing not only advanced tools, but the support, expertise, and reliability you need to do your very best work — every time.
